Spencer is SO darn cute! I love his preschool! He is learning so much and his teacher is just amazing! Miss Jamie’s sister, Miss Jocie, is a photographer and took the kids pictures on “Picture Day” (can you believe I have a kid who has PICTURE DAY?!) Click on the picture if you want to see the other kids and the class photo.
FROM A TEACHER: My five-year old students are learning to read.
Yesterday one of them pointed at a picture in a zoo book and said, ‘Look at this! It’s a frickin’ elephant!’
I took a deep breath, then asked…’What did you call it?’ ‘It’s a frickin’ elephant! It says so on the picture!’ ;
And so it does… ‘ A f r i c a n Elephant ‘ Hooked on phonics! Ain’t it wonderful?
I took my niece, Lauren, to get her hair cut. My high school friend, who I didn’t actually meet until after we graduated, cuts my hair so naturally I took Lauren to get hers done too. Take a look-see…Lauren@MyHairIsCuterThanYours.blogspot.com
Thanks Cami (and please take my picture off! At least of the front…Holy Hideousness Batman! That’s what I get for no eye makeup!
Remember the pictures my family had taken last year? You can see them HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE. Triana Ord Photograhy just had her 200th post and is giving away 2 mini-sessions!!! You should sign up too!
Hey Festa and future-Festa! Guess what we got?!?!? OUR TICKETS TO COME TO YOUR WEDDING! I’m so excited! We’re excited to get out there (and a mini-vaca from the kids) for your wedding and to be in New Jersey. We’re so excited for the two of you and can’t wait to see you again…well, and meet you Mel!!
We had our old neighbors over for a BBQ on Sunday. I never realized how much I miss them until they came down. We are so lucky and blessed to have had the Shelleys and Sterziks as neighbors an friends. They came over for dinner and it was so nice to just sit and talk. The kids loved it (and I think it helped Cyana realize that ‘her Evie’ isn’t gone). After the BBQ we went to the duck pond to feed the ducks and explore. Of course, having Brent there meant we also tried catching fish, a salamander, and a crawdad. I had a ton of fun taking pictures, and I realized I hardly got any of Sydney…she was too busy trying to catch everything with the boys.
Tonight we had a home visit by our new Bishop…and we assumed it was for new callings. Mike and Nicole (and Gavin!) were over so they already know. We all took a guess.
Want to guess? Just leave a comment. 🙂
We’re the 12 year old Sunday School teachers!!! We’re really excited. We heard we have a great group of kids.
So I’m guessing we’ve had a pretty crazy month…we moved, my parents were in town, I worked extra hours, we’ve hardly been home and now we’re seeing the effects of it. Spencer is driving us batty! Everything…and I mean EVERYTHING….is “sticky” so he has to wash his hands…constantly. I’m afraid he’ll end up being OCD. He refused to help pick up his toys, refused to talk to us, refused to get out of his pajamas, refused to take off his saturated pull up, and simply refused anything and everything we tried to understand what’s going on with him. I’m guessing I’ve been working too much and he’s tired of getting bounced around from house to house. I was SO tired of his whiny-ness (how do you spell that?!?!) that the last time he complained about being sticky I grabbed peanut butter and smeared it all over his hand. Yes…a little cruel, but I didn’t want to yell and him, I didn’t want to spank him (I was too angry so I didn’t want to lose control at all…)
So we’ve decided we are going to spend as much time with just our little family as possible. We think we all need it. We’re hardly home…in our new house…and we’ve let other things end up taking over our lives.
Tonight…we’re going to the movies!
